Here is a simple Winter tale / reading and writing activity. Children can read the text and fill in the missing words. The answers are given in red on the next slide and the pictures around the colour border help children with the words they need. There is a blank border page where children can make up their own Winter tale and use the pictures to help them. Alternatively, they can draw a picture of the Winter tale or a Winter picture of their own. There are also colour flashcards without words and colour flashcards with words that can assist children with their reading and writing.

A cross curricular resource for children linked to the story -Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. The resource includes counting writing and drawing as well as emotions/feelings. Sheets: 1- Children cut out the cards and count and order the colour dwarfs from 1 to 7. 2 - Shows the colour dwarfs and their names. Children can write the names underneath or write a word or phrase to describe them. 3 - Shows black and white dwarfs for children to write the names underneath and colour. They then draw their favourite dwarf and say why it is their favourite. 4 -Shows cards with the names of the dwarfs. Chidren can draw the dwarfs, cut and paste from a previous sheet or write about them with a word or phrase. Link this resource with feelings and children could also draw feeling faces to illustrate the dwarfs.
